PLASTIC ARTIST
In the early nineties I started teaching drawing and painting classes, but I still had my work.
It was only in 1998 that I officially opened the Elena Juan Workshop.
I quit my job and devoted myself fully to painting, which was what I really liked it. Love it teaching and I enjoy doing it.
I teach a trade, the trade of a painter. What each one does with that trade is not my responsibility.
When I was young there were painters and artists. The word "artist" was very important. But since today everyone is an artist, I prefer to say that I am and I train painters.
I always tell my students to listen to her work, because she speaks to them. That they learn to listen to it.
I think we were all born with different gifts, thank God. If not, this would be boring. There are those who are born with conditions for realism, others are more expressionist, there are those who are good at drawing and those who work better with abstraction, others are good at everything. The important thing is to be yourself. Give your best. Let each find their own way.
